Good Morning Huskies

6th and 7th graders. If you are planning to participate in a fall sport next year please sign up in the office. We start practices the day after school begins in the fall and you will want to have all your paperwork ready to go.

Attention 8th graders. We will have an 8th graders only celebration dance tomorrow night. It will be from 7 to 9:00. There will be a live DJ, Ice Cream Sundae bar and everything is free!

Ladies, if you did not get your stuff out of your PE locker, especially if you did not have PE this trimester,  it has all been bagged up and is in the locker room. Go get it today! Guys, your stuff can be found by lost and found.

All students Please check the lost and found by the end of today. All items not claimed will be donated on Friday.

There are still about 45 overdue library books. Please turn them in by tomorrow or a bill will be sent home!

If you have medication in Nurse Kim’s office, your parent or guardian needs to come in and pick it up by tomorrow.  Medications that are not picked up will be disposed of.

Have a great day Huskies!

Message from the Principal:

Dear Parents and Students ~

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!  We are so excited to have our building once again filled with the energy that only middle school can offer.  There is an optimism and renewed vision that marks every September, and the genuine commitment from our educators is truly contagious.  This year, our enrollment is just over 600 students.  We are proud to continue providing a school experience that is academically rigorous, in a culture filled with support and encouragement.  As an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) school, we pride ourselves on creating a culture that promotes goal setting, self-directedness, and career exploration.  Your student will experience the benefits of AVID strategies throughout their year.  Students will also have increased access to technology that supports learning.  Our district has committed resources to ensure that students have the digital tools needed in our fast-paced world of learning.

We know that students who participate in co-curricular activities feel a stronger connection to their school community, and benefit from adults as coaches and mentors.  Please visit our website frequently to learn about athletic and other opportunities for your student.  You are also urged to use ParentVue regularly.  This is our means of keeping you and your student informed about grades and assignments.  Every adult at EGMS is dedicated to making this year a positive, memorable one for your student.  Thank you for your partnership.
